That horse has the worlds worst (or best) timing. On Thursday, Bo managed to rip off a shoe and take some decent amounts of skin off his heels in the process. Luckily there was no serious damage done and this morning, the ginger idiot had his shoe put back on so prep work for this weekend can continue.
Bo’s punishment for being a knob… Pink bell boots and a purple fleece rug.
Unfortunately the fool missed out on his gallop session with Joe down the beach. Instead we worked on square halts, halt to walk, walk to trot, trot to walk and trot to halt. The results are promising with Bo’s halts slowly becoming more square and he is relaxing and accepting the contact more in his upwards transitions.
This week will be a bit of a mad rush as I still need to pack, check all my gear is in good condition and is clean, check all my grooming supplies are at an acceptable level and I still have to trim Bo, pull his mane, clip his socks and tail… And yes, you read right. I clip his tail. Bo is not a fan of having his tail pulled and the hair on his dock is not nice enough to plait so I clip the sides of his dock. 🙂 Bo no longer looks like Basil Brush and I don’t have to risk an angry Ginger Ninja. It keeps the pair of us happy.
Bo’s identical twin perhaps?
The times for Capel are up!!
On the bright side… Bo now no longer seems to be bothered by water jumps. On 8/3 SP and I took Bo and her 3 yr old German Riding Pony Cadbury, out to do a bit of desensitising. Bo got to do some jumping while Cadbury was ridden for the first time off the property. Bo was even the big brave lead horse through the water jump for Cadbury. Bo gave Cadbury so much confidence that she even tried jumping into water herself.

Brookleigh water jump – Round 2 🙂
That’s all folks. Wish us luck for the weekend!
